Buffalo Hospital is taking maternity care to another level! In just a few weeks, the hospital will begin construction to add a second story to make room for our new Birth Center. With this expansion, the Buffalo Hospital Birth Center will not only double in size, but our patients and their families will immediately notice many impressive upgrades and new amenities.
Spacious delivery rooms, post partum rooms and inviting family areas will give the Birth Center an ambience similar to what you would find in a luxury hotel. Other post partum room upgrades include a comfortable soaking tub, flat-screen TV, refrigerator, rocker, pull-out sleeper for a more comfortable experience for dad and plenty of room for families to gather and celebrate.
“We’ve always been known for outstanding care provided by our doctors, nurses and support staff. The time has come to elevate the quality of our physical environment to meet the quality of the medical experience at Buffalo Hospital,” says Jennifer Nelson, Buffalo Hospital president.
When the new Birth Center opens in the spring of 2010, it will offer an expanded Level II Nursery for babies born prematurely, two spacious and accommodating family lounges, including play areas for siblings and space for the hospital’s lactation specialists to counsel breastfeeding mothers.
“The expanded Level II Nursery will offer the necessary accommodations to provide specialty care to a greater number of premature babies,” says Cindy Oquist, Birth Center manager. “Providing this level of specialty care allows mom and baby to stay together right here at home.”
