Friday, Sept. 11, at about 3:30 p.m. a two-car crash occurred in Kimball. Natalie Stein, daughter of Bob and Robin Stein, was driving a 2002 Grand Am., making a left turn to go to Kimball, when her car was hit on the driver’s side by a 2004 Dodge pickup truck driven west-bound by Ken Utsch of Paynesville. Stein pulled out of the driveway of the Jeff Orbeck home in front of the pickup and there was not enough time for Utsch to stop. Fortunately, Utsch quickly swerved to avoid hitting the driver’s door and possibly injuring Natalie severely, but could not avoid the impact altogether. Both vehicles are possibly totaled, both drivers sustained minor injuries. Natalie was taken to St. Cloud Hospital by ambulance and was released that night.
With the many sports and school activities that are taking place, our hope is for all to be extra careful and watch for young people that are involved in these activities.
