Carol Vergin, 85

Carol Vergin of Buffalo died Dec. 14, 2020. She was 85. 
A private funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo with Rev. Ryan Clark officiating. A private interment will follow. A public reviewal with social distancing will take place from 9-11 a.m. Saturday morning before the service, at the church. The service will be live-streamed and recorded on YouTube @St. John’s Lutheran Buffalo, MN.
Carol Mae Strecker was born April 15, 1935, in Fair Haven to Louis and Esther Strecker. She was baptized May 12, 1935, by Rev. Lueck. She was instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith April 10, 1949, by Rev. John Beck. Her confirmation memory verse was John 8: 31-32, “If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make thee free.” She graduated from Kimball High School in 1953 and attended college in St. Cloud.
Carol was united in marriage to William “Bill” Vergin on June 20, 1959, and this union was blessed with two sons. He preceded her in death March 3, 1991. She was active in the Rockford Garden Club, Head Start, Wright County Mental Health, blood mobile, Cross Lutheran Church choir, PTA, Kitchen Band, she was an election judge, and a founding member of the Rockford Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club. In February 1987, she and her family moved from Rockford to Buffalo. They joined St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was active in LWML and the hand bell choir.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband Bill, and her parents.
She is survived by her sons Daniel of Buffalo, and Timothy (and Randi) Vergin of rural Rockford, and many friends and relatives.
Honorary casket bearers will be Todd Schulze, John Matthees, Mike Hemminger, and Dan, Tim and Steve Vergin. Arrangements are with The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo.
