Catherine Vogler of Richmond, formerly of Tinley Park, Ill., died Sunday, May 14, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was 96.
Catherine?Äôs funeral mass was at St. George Church, Tinley Park, Ill., and interment was in Assumption Cemetery in Glenwood, Ill., May 19, 2017.
There will be a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 9, at Assumption Church, 464 State Street N., Eden Valley.
Catherine E. (Weidenfeller) Vogler was born July 17, 1920, in Chicago. She was united in marriage in 1939 to Joseph Vogler in Illinois. They raised their family in Tinley Park, Ill., and spent their summers on Long Lake in Richmond, Minn. In 1995, Catherine and Joseph moved and made Minnesota their home. Joseph preceded Catherine in death in 2000. She was a member of Assumption Church in Eden Valley. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and playing board games, cards, and crossword puzzles.
Catherine was preceded in death by her husband Joseph; daughters Joan Stumpf, Nancy Gayeski, and Cherry Johnson; grandchildren Joseph Michael Gayeski, and David Johnson.
She is survived by her daughter Kimberly (and Mark) Marschel of Richmond, son-in-law Jerry (and Nancy) Gayeski of Tinley Park, Ill., sister-in-law Al (and Sue) Vogler of Markham, Ill.; seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are preferred.
