Catholic women’s convention

The St. Cloud Diocesan Council of Catholic Women’s 50th Convention will take place at St. Francis Xavier Parish in Sartell Saturday, Sept. 13. All women of the diocese are invited to attend. The theme for this golden anniversary convention is “Red, yellow, black and white, all are precious in God’s sight.” Rev. Jeff Ethan will give the keynote address at 9:30 a.m. Bishop John Kinney will be the main celebrant at the 11 a.m. Mass followed by lunch.   Workshops run from 1:45-2:30 p.m. They will include “Media and family communications,” “How to get the most out of Medicare dollars,” “Growing in faith from a missionary’s perspective,” “The church of the Eucharist,” “Prayer has brought us to the end of Roe V. Wade, Alleluia,” and “Taking the mystery out of bylaws.” This golden anniversary convention will include a history booklet, exhibits and other specials commemorating the 50 years of the council in the Diocese of St. Cloud. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. with rolls and coffee, followed by the general assembly at 8:45 a.m. The day ends with prayer at 2:45 p.m. Reservations and transportation arrangements should be made through your parish women’s group.   The cost is $15 ($20 for late registration after Sept. 5).
