What’s happening at the Eden Valley Area Library?
June will be a busy month at the library. Our children’s program Education Nation begins on Tuesday, June 17, with an exciting visit from Magician Jerry Frasier. It takes place in the Community Center from 10-11 a.m. Everyone is welcome. It’s sure to be a great show. More details about the other sessions are mentioned below and they all have a magical theme. Now on to our exciting fundraising events for Valley Daze.
If you’ve missed out on our Eden Valley Area Library Book Sale in the past, make sure to come to the library on Friday, June 27, from 1-5 p.m. and Saturday, June 28, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Browse many Star Trek paperbacks, non-fiction, and many other popular authors. There are also stacks of great hardcover books by popular authors. Stop in and take home a bag full of favorites. Please remember, it’s a free-will donation sale and it is a fundraiser.
The Eden Valley Area Bake Sale fundraiser once again takes place in the Community Center. The date and time is Saturday, June 28, from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. We have some amazing area bakers contributing their homemade goods including among other items scones and biscotti. We will also be offering those famous cinnamon rolls from Cold Spring Bakery. Coffee will also be available. Let’s face it, we put the “fun” in fundraising.
As previously mentioned, our children’s program Education Nation kicks off on Tuesday, June 17, from 10-11 a.m. with Magician Jerry Frasier. There are three other sessions to follow. Each takes place in the Community Center from 9:30-11 a.m.
On Tuesday, July 1, celebrate the Magic of Science with amazing experiments like making slime, bouncy balls, and lemon volcanoes.
On Tuesday, July 15, celebrate the Magic of Music with the children making musical instruments such as harmonicas, tambourines, and maracas.
The last session is on Tuesday, July 29, with a celebration of the Magic of Art. Those attending will create works of art with materials like beans, and macaroni. With each session there will be a display of books to check out. So, make sure your kids have their library cards! Everyone is welcome. We request all children be accompanied by an adult.
It has been determined that the Jigsaw Puzzle Exchange will continue if there are patrons interested in exchanging jigsaw puzzles. We have a great selection. So, if puzzles are your thing, stop in and pick up a new-to-you selection.
