Chicken Soup for the Sole Purpose of Promoting the Visual Arts, 2002

Michael C. LinnThe Chicken Soup community visual arts showcase was, to borrow a line from Martha Stewart, “a good thing”, and a good time for all who attended.

The Kimball Art Department would like to express a big “thank you” to John and LaVerne Messelt, Gary and Peggy Trimble, Steve and Ann Palm, Gary Lagerstedt, Margie Laabs, Marilyn Wirth, Pat Dockendorf, Jessie Lesnau, Nick Shaf, Luke Becker, Knaus Sausage House, Cash Wise, American Dairy Association Stearns County, Gohmann’s SuperValu, and the State Bank of Kimball.

The students who advanced in the local Minnesota High School League Visual Arts Competition were:

o DRAWING: Liz Dwyer with “Run Away” and “Self Aware”.

o PAINTING: Elissa Ecker with “In Accord” and “Untitled”.

o SCULPTURE: Liz Dwyer.

o MIXED MEDIA: Elissa Ecker with two “Untitled” works.

o PRINT MEDIUM: Sara Donnay with “Walking Encounters”, and Sarah Walker with “Searching Separated Sarah”.
