Cindy Wills, 59


Cindy Wills died Saturday, June 18, 2022, at her Fair Haven home. She was 59.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 23, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kimball with Pastor David Milz officiating. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m., before the service. Burial will follow in Fair Haven Cemetery. The service will be live-streamed on the funeral home website.

Cindy Louise Maurer was born July 2, 1962, in St. Cloud to William and Evelyn (Markwardt) Maurer. She grew up in Fair Haven Township, was baptized and confirmed at Concordia Lutheran Church in Fair Haven, and graduated from Kimball Area High School with the Class of 1980. Cindy continued her education in Granite Falls in medical transcription. On Aug. 21, 1982, she was united in marriage to Steven Wills at Concordia Lutheran Church in Fair Haven. They lived for a short time in Baytown, Texas, and Longview, Texas, before moving back to Fair Haven Township where they raised their family. Cindy worked for 33 years at Stearns County Human Services, retiring on Dec. 31, 2021.

Cindy was a former member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Fair Haven, and a current member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kimball. She served as secretary for the church council for numerous years. Cindy enjoyed reading, traveling, snowmobiling, fishing, and flower gardening. She loved to spend time with family, especially with her grandchildren who were her pride and joy.

Cindy was preceded in death by her father William Maurer, brother David Maurer, grandson William Marvin Piepkorn, parents-in-law Darrel and Shirley Wills, and brother- and sister-in-law Robert and Pamela Wills.

She is survived by her husband Steve; son Dustin of Fair Haven; daughter Megan (and Logan) Piepkorn of Weatherford, Texas; grandchildren Archer, Everley, Fiona, and Truett Piepkorn; mother Evelyn Maurer of Annandale; brother Craig Maurer of Annandale; and niece Monique (and Mario) Vasquez, and grand-niece Melina Vasquez.

Urn bearers will be Nicole Jarvis, Chad, Jason, Courtney, Jesse, Michael, and Brian Wills. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Kimball.
