Clara Huberty of Watkins died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at Hilltop Care Center in Watkins. She was 93.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins. Interment was in the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. Rev. John Brunner, Rev. Tony Hesse, and Rev. Ron Huberty officiated.
Clara M. Huberty was born Feb. 2, 1916, in Cold Spring to Theodore and Ottilia (Krier) Schreifels. She married Martin M. Huberty June 28, 1939, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring; he preceded her in death in 2006. They resided in Watkins where Clara was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church and she was active with the Council of Catholic Women. Clara also was a member of the Watkins Senior Citizens. She enjoyed golfing, reading, and playing cards. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Clara was preceded in death by her husband Martin; children David and Diane; brothers Fr. Ferdinand OSB and Theodore; and sisters Mathilda Huberty, Theresa Menke, Rose Kraemer, and Marcella Schreifels.
She is survived by her children Elaine (and John) Quast of Richfield, Mike (and Mary) Huberty of Eden Valley, Jim (and Mary) Huberty of Brooklyn Park, Jane (and Tim) Nephew of Moorhead; seven grandchildren; and sisters Barbara Nistler of Watkins, Marie Roeser of Watkins, and Rita Ludwig of Cold Spring.
Music was provided by Kathy Pauls. Casket bearers were Tim Huberty, Dan Huberty, Casey Huberty, Greg Huberty, Andy Nephew, Lauren Nephew, and Beth Huberty. Arrangements were by Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins.
