Clarence Dockendorf of Clearwater died Saturday, May 27, 2017, at St. Cloud Hospital. He was 85. 
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 1, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Clearwater with Rev. Dennis Backer officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Daniel Funeral Home in Clearwater, and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. Parish prayers will be held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Clarence W. Dockendorf was born Jan. 8, 1932, at home in Watkins to Albert and Minnie (Hess) Dockendorf. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1953 until 1955. Clarence married Lenora Neu Feb. 8, 1956, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in St. Nicholas; they have lived in Clearwater since 1967. Clarence was a member of St. Luke’s Parish, Knights of Columbus Council #14013, and the Clearwater American Legion Post #323. He was employed by Landwehr Construction for 37 years. Clarence enjoyed ice fishing, hobby farming, and giving the grandchildren and great-grandchildren rides on his golf cart.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; brother Ervin Dockendorf, sisters Viola Bischof and Suzette Krueger, and granddaughter-in-law Sarah Imholte.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Lenora; children Ken (and Casey) Dockendorf of Las Vegas, Dwayne (and Cindy) Dockendorf of St. Cloud, Marlene (and Mitch) Imholte of Clearwater, Jim Dockendorf of St. Cloud, Marvin (and Terri) Dockendorf of Clearwater, Brian (and Krista) Dockendorf of St. Stephen; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; brothers Norbert Dockendorf of Sauk Rapids, Ernie (and Betty) Dockendorf of Watkins; and sisters Evelyn Hanson of Eden Valley and Eileen (and Vic) Hartung of St. Cloud.
The family extends special thanks to the ICU staff at St. Cloud Hospital. Memorials are preferred to St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Clearwater.
