Clippers shut out Irish

In their third game of the 2021 Minnesota state amateur baseball tournament, the Clippers shut out the St. Patrick Irish to win, 2-0, and move into the Final Four semifinals.

The Clippers scored 2 runs in the bottom of the third inning, and they maintained that lead to win the game. Nolan Geislinger crossed the plate after Dan Berg hit a ground ball and reached on an error by the Irish shortstop; Kevin Kramer advanced to second on the same play. Kramer then scored on a sac fly by Justin Tompson.

Kevin Kramer hit a double and a single for the Clippers. Nolan Geislinger had 1 RBI on a single. Brendan Ashton and Dan Berg each hit a pair of singles on the game, with 1 RBI for Berg.

Justin Tompson earned the win for the Clippers, pitching the first 7.1 innings. He struck out 7 and walked 2. Matt Geislinger finished the game, striking out another 3. Together, they limited the Irish to 4 hits and kept them scoreless.

Zach Seuer took the loss for the Irish; he struck out 4 and walked 3 in his 6 innings on the mound. Seuer allowed both Clippers runs.  Zak Endres finished the game, striking out 2 and walking 1.

The Irish hit 4 singles, spread among 4 players. Two players
walked, and they had 10 strike-
outs.
