We had a windy start to the weekend Saturday. At times, the winds gusted to 45 mph. Where some snow fell last week, that did cause reduced visibilities in open areas, especially in southern Minnesota where the heaviest snow fell. As a result, the National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow Saturday.
Thankfully, the winds died down Sunday making for a nice day to close out the weekend. That trend continued as a very quiet weather pattern has set up and will linger into this coming weekend.
Temperatures for the midweek will remain well above-normal for this time of year. Highs Wednesday will be in the 40s for most of the area. However, a few spots in southern Minnesota could be in the upper 40s to near 50 degrees.
By the way, looking at the 30-day outlook for the month of March, it appears we will remain above-normal for temperatures with equal chances of precipitation at this point.
Enjoy these beautiful temps.
Weather history: On this date in 1965, records show that it was windy across Minnesota. The wind would reach speeds of up to 45 mph across the state.
