?ÄúI want to take this time to thank all of the athletes and coaching staff for another successful season. We were very excited to host meets on our track, and I extend a huge thank you to all the people it took to run those meet. A special thank you to all of the
athletes who helped as well; without great helpers, the meets cannot run efficiently. At the beginning of the season, I commented on how excited I was for the new tracksters joining our program, and for our communities to see more meets up close in Kimball. I also mentioned we should be able to compete well for our communities, and wow, did the athletes deliver.There were numerous first-place finishes in meets, seven additional school records went down, many athletes achieved state honor roll status, and we had eight state entrants.
Anna Donnay during her 3200-meter (2-mile) run; she also ran the 1600-meter (1-mile). She placed seventh in State and was selected for the all-State team.
This year?Äôs record breakers were: 4×800 (Hayden Gagnon, Zach Swenson, Alex Marquedant, and Matthew Notch); 4×400 (Jevonte Victor, Hayden Gagnon, Zach Garding, and Matthew Notch); 300M hurdles (Greg Lux), 400M (Matthew Notch) and 100M and 200M (Jevonte Victor). This year?Äôs state entrants were: Anna Donnay (1600M and 3200M all-state seventh place); Greg Lux (110M hurdles and triple jump); Hayden Gagnon (high jump and 4×400 all-state fourth place);
Matthew Notch (400M and 4×400 all-state fourth place); Holly Loch (long jump all-state fifth place); Hannah Ehlinger (high jump all-state seventh place); Zach Garding (4×400 all-state fourth place); and Jevonte Victor (4×400 all-state fourth place). Thanks again to all the staff and athletes for this season. I am already excited for next year and the changes we are making to accommodate both the varsity and the junior high. A special thank you and good luck to coach Gordon Schlangen for his valued time with us; as he moves on to St. Micheal next year! Have a great summer everyone!?Äù
