Cold front is on its way

·

Weather: We were spoiled over the weekend with some great weather across the area to get outdoors and finish up some of those outdoor projects.

Temperatures on Sunday were generally in the mid- to upper-50s across the area with lots of sunshine. It was quite breezy across the region.

That beautiful weather continued Monday with temperatures once again in the upper 50s, and even some lower 60s for much of Minnesota.

With a mostly clear sky Sunday night into Monday morning temperatures generally fell into the 30s. A few lower 20s were found across northern Minnesota.

We will see an increase in the clouds for Tuesday out ahead of our next system. Although, temperatures will remain above average for this time of the year.

A cold front will impact the Upper Midwest by Tuesday night into Wednesday. Temperatures will tumble into the 40s for highs with a chance of rain and snow.

It will also be quite windy on Wednesday for the Veterans Day commemorations across the area along with a chance of rain.

That windy weather along with a chance of rain and snow will continue on Thursday before drier weather returns just in time for the weekend.

Temperatures will moderate over the weekend with highs projected on Saturday and Sunday to reach the 50s once again. We could see some rain returning by Sunday late in the day.

Happy Veterans Day to all the area veterans including my own dad, Cliff who served in World War II.

Weather history: On this date in 1966 temperatures were cold all across the region with morning low temps falling below zero.

Weather fact: Wind Advisory – is issued by the National Weather Service when there are sustained winds of 31?Äì39 miles per hour and/or gusts of 46?Äì57 miles per hour over land.
