Community Education summer fun

Kimball Community Education is in full swing for the summer. Youth classes started the first week school was out and have run non stop. Youth opportunities in June included Music Mania, Pirates of Kimball, Creative Cooking, Wet & Wild, Jr. Theatre, 3 … 2 … 1 … Blast Off!, Computers, Nature Smurfs, and Maniac Math as enrichment classes. We also had recreational opportunities for our community; Jr. Golf, T-Ball and Rookie Ball, Baseball (with Kimball Sports Boosters), Softball, Volleyball, Tumbling, Sport-O-Rama, and Track & Field. Programs were well attended and the participants and coaches have had a great time together. Fun Fridays are part of the summer Community Education programming. We have already been to Monticello Community Center and Como Zoo. Other trips planned through the summer include River Bats, Old Log Theatre, and Summerland. Call Community Education if interested in attending a Fun Friday Field Trip. Community Education collaborates with other departments in the district or outside agencies to offer Driver’s Training for all the eager new drivers in the district, Open Fitness Center, Clay Camp, DWP Outreach, Summer of Service, and Youth Counselors in Training. These are all worthwhile, valuable programs promoting the health of our community and school district. There is still time to register for classes this summer. Call the Community Education Office Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. We can be reached at (320) 398-7700 ext. 112 or 114, or stop in and visit us at Kimball Area High School. Community Education has many roles throughout the summer. Early Childhood Family Education is running classes, we oversee the School Age Care program, Cubs Club, we have been seen lining a ball field and we have been known to play on the playground with Cubs Club students, so we may not be in the office to catch a phone call. Please leave a message if you don’t get us directly.  Our office will be closed July 2-6 to honor the 4th of July and give us a break before we finish the fall Cub Prints and program guide. Look for the new Cub Prints /Program Guide in late August. Check out all the new and exciting classes and activities for youth and adults. See you at Kimball Elementary Open House on Aug. 28.
