Contest, art show, and fundraiser in Eden Valley, March 16-18

·

Do you have art to share?

Citizens4Progress is hosting a special school and community event. We are pleased to present an Art and Drawing Contest for grades K-6. The theme they are to work with is, “What is your favorite time of year and why?”

All the papers will be displayed on the Community Center walls beginning at 2-7 p.m. Thursday, March 16, and 2-7 p.m. Friday, March 17, and then from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, March 18.

Awards ceremony and presentation will be at 10 a.m. One student winner from each classroom will be honored.

Also during that week, we are hosting a High School Art Show. Art teacher Mr. Kulzer and his students will be displaying works in varied art media.

Mr. Kulzer will add an event in honor of Carolyn Becher, our past art teacher of many years, in an effort to promote a scholarship fundraiser by selling handmade soup bowls. Bowls will be made by Mr. Kulzer and his art students. They will be available for sale along with soup and chili. This will be a great opportunity for visitors to gather in camaraderie in memory of Carolyn Becher. Funds will be used for a scholarship in her name.

The Carolyn Becher Scholarship Fundraiser is at 11 a.m. with soup and chili, breadsticks, punch, and cookies.

We welcome additional students in K-12 to submit art pieces to be displayed. An invitation is also extended to adult artists from our community to submit pieces to the art show. Art may be brought to the Community Center from 2-5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15, or by appointment where an EVC4P member will assist in the display.

We look forward to an exciting art-filled week for everyone.
