Country worship service

Rebecca’s Well, a Christian music band, will lead a special Country Worship Service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, at Ostmark Lutheran Church-ELC, of rural Watkins. The service includes both new and old country and western favorites. The band is a musical outreach ministry of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Maple Lake. The churchmen’s annual pork chop and sweet corn dinner will follow the service. The men grill the chops on the church patio and the corn is grown by a member for the event. Barbecue sandwiches and hot dogs will also be served. Supplemental funds have been applied for through Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, Branch #31309. Later that evening, the annual Relay for Life “Music and Light Fest” will be held at 8 p.m. The event includes a variety of special music offerings and the opportunity to light candles in honor and/or memory of loved ones who are or have battled cancer. The Music and Light Fest is also a benefit for the American Cancer Society. Sponsors are the “Toucan Team” whose members are from both Ostmark and St. Matthew’s United Church of Christ of Forest City. A time of fellowship with coffee, lemonade and bars follows. Regular worship services at Ostmark are 9 a.m. Sundays with Holy Communion on the first and third Sundays of the month. Ostmark is located 12 miles northeast of Litchfield, off of Highway 24, or 7-1.2 miles southeast of Watkins. For more information, call (320) 693-8450.
