Klingelhoets arrested The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a car accident on CSAH 4 near 273rd Street in Dassel Township. A vehicle had crashed into the ditch after nearly crashing into two other vehicles. Witnesses reported that, when they went to check on the driver, he took off running into the woods east of the crash. When deputies arrived, they followed the driver into the wooded and slough area. After a short search, and about 150 yards into the woods, the two deputies found a man matching the description of the driver: white male, shirtless and wearing blue jeans. The suspect ran from the deputies but quickly was caught. The driver, later identified as Alan Arthur Klingelhoets, 46, of Kingston, stated that he was not injured. According to their report, he appeared to the deputies to be very intoxicated. Klingelhoets was arrested for driving after revocation, driving under the influence of alcohol, and leaving the scene of an accident. He was transported to the Meeker County jail.
