Thursday, Feb. 9, the boys?Äô C squad basketball team hosted Holdingford. The team played one of the best games of the year and lost by 8. This was a great improvement after losing by 32 the first time the two teams met. The game was back and forth in the first half with neither team able to get an advantage. Noah Young hit a half-court shot at the buzzer to tie the score at 26 heading into halftime. The second half was much of the same until the final 5 minutes. During that time our offense sputtered, we gave up a few easy baskets, and Holdingford opened up a lead. The final score was 51-43. Forty-three points was a season high for us as a team. I was happy with how everyone played and the improvement we showed from the first time we played them.
Scoring for the Cubs were Noah Young 14, Brian Binsfeld 10, Jack Knaus 8, Michael Stern 6, Tyler Stang 2, Ruben Overdevest 1, and Hunter Hickman 1.
