Cubs earn split against Irish

The Cubs traveled to Maple Lake for a double-header against the Irish. Kimball dominated in the first game of the twin bill. They took an early 6-1 lead and never looked back in a 13-3 victory. Tanner Kuseske picked up the win pitching five strong innings. He allowed three runs on three hits. Tanner struck out 10 and walked two.

At the plate, the Cubs had six hits. Ryder Schwieters led the team with three. Four different Cubs scored two runs each. Schwieters added four RBI for Kimball. Caden Petersen and Gavin Mesenbrink had three steals apiece.

In the second game, Gavin Mesenbrink took the hill for the Cubs. Gavin pitched four innings and gave up five runs on five hits. He struck out four and walked one. Graham Gregorson finished up for Kimball. He allowed one run on two hits in taking the loss (5-6).

The Cubs were only able to pick up three hits in the finale. Caden Petersen had two of the hits. Ryder Schwieters scored two runs for Kimball and had two RBI. Petersen led the team with three steals.
