Cubs get first win of the season

The Kimball Cubs hosted the Falcons from Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City on Tuesday, May 16th.  The Falcons jumped to an early 2-0 lead.  The Cubs answered with three runs in the bottom of the first (3-2).  ACGC scored five runs in the third to take a 7-6 lead, but Kimball struck back with four in their half of the inning and closed out the 15-7 win.

Zack Holtz was the starting pitcher for the Cubs and threw five innings.  Zack allowed seven runs on six hits.  He struck out six and walked three.  Austin Donnay pitched the last inning allowing two walks and hitting a batter, but he struck out the side before allowing any runs.

At the plate the Cubs struck for ten hits and walked 15 times.  Holtz led the hit parade with four.  Greg Antigus and Carter Lyrek each had two hits.  Other Cubs notching hits were Brandon Guggisberg and Matt Loch.  Holtz and Donnay both scored four runs and Holtz added 3 RBI for the Cubs.
