Cubs offense struggled as the Cubs lost to Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted Friday, Sept. 12, 12-0. Kimball defense played well after the Lakers scored on their opening drive. Defense was led by linebacker Dan Barthel with six tackles and three assists; two tackles were for losses. Linebacker Erich Deutsch contributed five tackles and two assists; one tackle was behind the line of scrimmage. Defensive end Brandon Hur-rle added one quarterback sack, five tackles and five assists. Linebacker Jeremy Dahnke added four tackles and three assists; two tackles for losses. Aaron Rossman and Eric Voigt each had an interception. Voigt came up big in the fourth quarter, blocking a Laker punt. Kimball offense will work for consistency this Friday, Sept. 19, when they play the Jaguars in Belgrade.
