The Kimball boys’ basketball team hosted the ECHO Charter Rockets on Parents’ Night this past Saturday, Dec. 5. The Cubs jumped out to an early lead with their pressure defense creating a number of turnovers. At the half, Kimball led by a score of 51-11. In the second period, the Cubs’ scoring went down, but their defense played well, limiting the Rockets to 4 points. The final score of the game was Kimball 67 ECHO 15.
In the scoring column, the Cubs were led by Brett Ostby (15 points) and Neil Helgeson (11 points). Pat Libbesmeier, Austin Ruehle and Alex Fischer chipped in with 9 points each. Ryan Young hauled down 10 rebounds while Alex Fischer added six. Neil Helgeson dished out five assists and Pat Libbesmeier contributed four steals. Kimball’s next game is Thursday when they play host to Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity.
