Cubs rally to defeat Falcons

Kimball hosted ACGC this past Thursday, May 4, facing the Falcons for the second time this season. Gavin Mesenbrink was the starter for the Cubs pitching the first three innings. Gavin gave up five runs on four hits. He walked four batters while striking out four. Adrian Schindele relieved Mesenbrink and pitched two innings. Adrian allowed six runs and three hits. He struck out two and walked six. Garret Rosenow and Graham Gregorson finished up for the Cubs. Gregorson faced a total of five batters. He allowed one hit and struck out two. Gregorson was awarded the win as the Cubs were victorious in walk-off fashion.

The Cubs rallied three different times in the game. They were behind 10-1 and tied the game at 11 after five innings. After giving up five runs in the sixth, Kimball scored five in the bottom of the inning to tie it again. After Gregorson shut out the side in the seventh, the Cubs rallied in their half of the inning. Josh Loch led off with a double. Mason Lesnau followed with a single. With runners on first and third, Max Zoller hit the game-winning single to give the Cubs a 17-16 win.

The Cubs banged out 15 hits for the game. They were led by Zoller with three hits. Josh Loch, Ryder Schwieters, Tanner Kuseske, and Garret Rosenow had two hits apiece. Kuseske scored four of the Kimball runs. Schwieters and Gregorson scored three runs. Kuseske led the team with four steals. Lesnau, Zoller, and Schwieters each had two RBI.
