Cubs senior high volleyball teams have a rough start

·

Kimball volleyball teams hope their third week of competition goes more smoothly. The Cubs’ first match against St. John’s Prep was postponed because of an electrical outage Aug. 26. Since then, the Cubs have suffered losses to Eden Valley-Watkins, Rockford, Glen-coe-Silver Lake and Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted. The Cubs triumphed over Winsted Holy Trinity to bring the overall record to 1-4.  This week, the Cubs face Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa at Broot-en. The Cubs will have to find a way to stop Division I prospect Tina Lensing. The Cubs also host the team’s home tournament Saturday, Sept. 20. Games will begin at 9 a.m. Teams participating in the tournament include Holdingford, Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City, and Rogers.
