The Kimball gridiron guys broke a three-game losing stretch with a convincing 40-21 victory over Browerville/Eagle Valley last Friday, Oct. 12. “Tucker Schultz was outstanding again. Both Tucker Schultz and Thomas Pearson completely shattered every Kimball passing and receiving record. Of course, that doesn’t happen without great line play. Casey Gohmann is the leader of that group. Casey has started every game since his freshman year and he is the shining example of what it means to be a student-athlete,” commented Coach John Benson. Coach continued, “Michael Donnay is one of the top linebackers in the league, and he plays right guard as well as anyone in the conference. He is truly blessed with a great combination of quickness, strength, and tenacity.
Jimmy Wicker, Adam Frilstad, Taylor Hamilton, and Ty Gustafson are all junior offensive linemen that have been great as well. They all play both ways and have gotten better every week.” The coach believes that the team is only going to be as good as the offensive linemen allow them to be. “I hope we can continue to build on what we have here; the future’s bright. They’re playing really well right now, and that opens up everything for our team to be successful. I can’t say enough about that group. I’m simply very proud of all of them,” stated Coach Benson.
