The cubs varsity football team lost to HLW-W 8 – 40 Friday, Oct. 9. Kimball is now on short weeks for the rest of the season. This week the cubs will face BBE in Belgrade Wednesday Oct. 14.
Offensively, the cubs had 188 total yards. They were led in passing by Aaron Laabs who was 10/24 149 yards and 2 interceptions. Tyler Filzen and Austin Ruehle led the cubs in receiving with 6 for 85 yards and 4 for 64 yards respectively. The leader in rushing was Travis Schiefelbein who had 16 carries for 48 yards, one touchdown and one two-point conversion.
Defensively, the cubs were led by Mitch Pramann with 12 tackles, including two sacks. Tyler Loch had 10 tackles, Travis Schiefelbein with nine, and Travis Wills with eight. Austin Ruehle had an interception, and Alex Thurber had a blocked p.a.t. attempt.
The cubs are now 1-5 overall and 0-5 in conference play.
