Cubs?Äô 7th grade softball wrap-up

The Kimball Cubs seventh-grade softball team wrapped up their season on the road at New London/Spicer Thursday, May 18. The team gave NLS their first loss of the season, winning by a score of 22-9, and capping off a 3-0 week in which the Cubs really came into their own both offensively and defensively.

We played very good softball down the stretch. It was very fun to see the entire line up hitting with confidence along with very aggressive base running. The team?Äôs defense really sharpened up as well. We were catching pop flys and covering the infield with a lot of focus, which was demonstrated by a 6-3 double-play made midway through our last game.

Here is how the week started: the team defeated EV-W at home in a hard-fought 10-9 battle Monday; and then traveled to ACGC Tuesday, defeating them by a
score of 19-13, before closing out at NLS with the third win of the week, and finishing their seventh-grade season with a 6-5 record.

I would like to thank the team for their hard work and dedication. Every night at practice was a step forward, and it showed in their play.

The team and I would like to thank the parents and families for their support at our games both home and away.

Go Cubs!
