As demand for locally grown and sustainable products continues to rise, small and medium-scale mixed organic production farms are finding new avenues for diversification and income generation. Cut flowers have emerged as a popular and attractive option, drawing consumers to farmers’ markets and farmstands. To shed light on the fundamentals of cut flower farming in Minnesota, the University of Minnesota Extension is delighted to present the first in a series of webinars featuring Robin Trott, Extension Educator, and owner of Prairie Garden Farm.

Robin Trott, with 15 years of experience in cut flower farming, will share insights into the management of cut flowers as a value-added specialty crop. These flowers can be cultivated much like other row crops, offering the potential for increased income per acre compared to traditional vegetables. This webinar aims to equip farmers with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in the cut flower market.

The session will be recorded and shared exclusively with registered participants, allowing them to revisit the valuable information shared during the webinar.

This session marks the beginning of a series of Cut Flower Production webinars. Participants can look forward to more in-depth discussions and practical guidance in the subsequent webinars scheduled for March 2024.
