Daffodil Days for Cancer Society

·

The annual American Cancer Society Daffodil Days campaign has begun; soon, bright yellow daffodils will appear all over town. Order yours today by calling (800) ACS-2345 to ensure that you have a beautiful bunch of daffodils on your desk, as well as bunches for friends and family. Buying daffodils also offers those fighting cancer a “Gift of Hope.” “Daffodils are a symbol of hope that a cure for cancer will be found,” said Avis Ohman, American Cancer Society Daffodil Days Volunteer Ambassador, Moorhead, Minn. “Daffodils also brighten up the dreary days of winter and signal that spring is just around the corner; and it’s easy for you to get involved.” Three easy ways to get involved include: o Buy bunches of daffodils for yourself, co-workers, friends and family. o Brighten a cancer patient’s day; purchase a Gift of Hope – a beautiful bouquet of daffodils set in a vase that will be delivered anonymously to cancer patients. o Volunteer to sell daffodils, coordinate delivery or assemble Gift of Hope bouquets. Help support the American Cancer Society’s efforts to fund a cure for cancer. “For a $7 donation, you will receive a bunch of 10 daffodils; a $15 donation sends a Gift of Hope anonymously to a cancer patient,” said Kim Gohman, American Cancer Society, Midwest Division, Income Development Coordinator. “It is so wonderful to have this beautiful ray of sunshine on your desk; don’t miss out.” To order daffodils, or volunteer to help, call (800) ACS-2345. The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy and service.
