Dean Ek, 54

Dean Ek of Blackduck died Sunday, March 31, 2019. He was 54.

A celebration of Dean’s life will be held from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, April 14, at Triple R Grill and Bar in Kimball.

Dean Eric Ek was born April 3, 1964, in Minneapolis to Clarence and Gail (Maki) Ek. He grew up in Minneapolis until entering sixth grade when he and his family moved to Kimball. Dean graduated with the class of 1982 from Kimball Area High School. He then began many avenues of employment. In 1996, he welcomed his daughter Hannah into this world.

Dean was preceded in death by his father Clarence, sister Jeanne Ann, and grandparents.

He is survived by his significant other Lori Schenecker; daugher Hannah Ek of St. Cloud; sisters Kris (and Arnie) Gruenes of Richmond, Debbie (and John) Allar of Kimball; mother Gail Ek of Kimball; and many nephews and nieces.
