Debra Manuel of Watkins died Oct. 8, 2003. She was 49. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13, at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. Friends called from 4-9 p.m. Sunday and from 8-10 a.m. Monday at the Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins. Parish prayers were at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Debra C. Manuel was born in Watkins to Norbert and Lucetta Walters. She married John Manuel Nov. 16, 1974, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins. She had been employed with Fingerhut in St. Cloud for 14 years and was currently employed with B.I. Performance Services in Eden Valley. Debra was preceded in death by her father Norbert Walters. She is survived by her husband John “Smokey” Manuel of Watkins; children Angie Manuel, Joe Manuel and Tom Manuel, all of Watkins; mother Lucetta Walters of Watkins; brothers and sisters and their spouses, Maxine Billey of Minneapolis; Richard (and Judy) Walters of Omaha, Neb.; Doreen Walters of St. Louis Park; John Walters of Easley, Colo.; Ken (and Glennis) Walters of Williamsburg, S.C.; Mary Walters of Minneapolis; and Don Walters of Minneapolis; nieces and nephews.
