Denis Waltzing of Clearwater died on Sunday, April 6, 2003, at the St. Cloud Hospital. He was 65 years old. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Clearwater with Rev. Gerald Onuoha officiating. Burial followed in St. Luke’s Parish Cemetery. Friends called from 4-9 p.m. on Tuesday and after 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in Clearwater. Parish prayers were at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Denis J. Waltzing was born on Jan. 21, 1938, in Maine Prairie Township, Stearns County, to Peter and Clara (Kiffmeyer) Waltzing. He married Delphine E. Schmidt on July 11, 1962, at St. Mary’s Help of Christians Catholic Church in St. Augusta. Denis was employed as a meat cutter by Knaus Sausage House in Kimball, managed the Annandale Locker, and owned and operated the Clearwater Locker from 1977 until 2003. He served in the Army National Guard for eight years. Denis was a volunteer fireman in Kimball for 16 years, and later in Clearwater for 19 years. He was a member of the Clearwater Lions Club since 1985. He was also a member of St. Luke’s Parish, serving as usher, Eucharistic minister and trustee. Denis enjoyed life, his family and work. He absolutely loved his grandchildren. He enjoyed springtime when the birds returned, walking to the river, and gazing at the stars at night. He loved to visit with family and friends, and he always had a smile on his face. Denis was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gerald, infant sister Doreen, grandson Zachary Heinen, and daughter-in-law Judi Huberty Waltzing. He is survived by his wife Delphine of Clearwater; children Barbara (and Darren) Revier of St. Augusta, Daniel (and Lisa) Waltzing of St. Augusta, Pamela (and Dewey) Heinen of Sartell, Teri (and Tim) Gregory of Carlton, Thomas (and fiancee Stacy Bertram) Waltzing of Monticello, and Sandy Waltzing at home; 12 grandchildren; sister Marie (and Virgil) Koenig of St. Augusta; brothers Lawrence (and Helen) Waltzing of Kimball, Albert (and Diane) Waltzing of Osakis, and Victor Waltzing of Kimball. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. Arrangements were by Daniel Funeral Home-Clearwater.
