Kimball Area Friends of the Library hosts 10th annual “Dinner with an Author”

The Kimball Area Friends of the Library will host its tenth annual “Dinner with an Author” Friday, Nov. 20, featuring Will Weaver, a Minnesota author of A Gravestone made of Wheat. The title story Sweet Land was produced into an independent feature film. Several other titles include Red Earth, White Earth, Super Stock Rookie, Saturday Night Dirt, Defect, Full Service, Claws, Memory Boy, Hard Ball, Farm Team, Striking Out and On the Fringe.

Doors open for “Dinner with an Author” at 6 p.m. at Generations Ballroom in Kimball. A chicken dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. Mr. Weaver’s presentation and book signing will follow. Mr. Weaver’s books will be available for purchase. Tickets are $20.

Tickets are available at the Kimball Public Library or from a Kimball Area Friends of the Library member. Advance ticket sales only. Tickets are available for purchase through Nov. 2. Library hours are Monday 3-6 p.m, Wednesday, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., 3-6 p.m, Thursday 1-8 p.m., Friday 10 a.m.-1, 3-6 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m.-noon. Telephone: (320) 398-3915.

The Kimball Area Friends of the Library was founded in 1998 and is very active in their community. The event is sponsored by the Kimball Area Friends of the Library to raise awareness of the library’s presence in the Kimball area. The event is made possible through generous membership support. The Kimball Public Library is a branch library of the Great River Regional Library system.
