Director nominations window closes Jan. 25 for SEA annual election

The nominations window for the 2024 Stearns Electric Association Director Election closes at 4 p.m. on Jan. 25. -Stearns Electric member-consumers who live in districts 4, 5, or 9 who wish to run for a position on the Board of Directors are encouraged to visit the Cooperative’s Director Election webpage to learn more at www.stearnselectric.org/about-us/board-and-bylaws/director-election/.

• District 4 – Serving Minnesota townships: Farming, Zion, Munson, Paynesville, Eden Lake, and Luxemburg in Stearns County.

• District 5 – Serving Minnesota townships: Bangor, Glenwood and Grove Lake in Pope County; Raymond, Getty, Grove, North Fork, Lake George, Spring Hill, St. Martin, Crow Lake, Crow River and Lake Henry in Stearns County; and Roseville Township in Kandiyohi County.

• District 9 – Serving Minnesota townships: St. Joseph, Wakefield, Rockville and Maine Prairie in Stearns County.

Stearns Electric Association is governed by a member-elected board of directors who set policies and guidelines for Cooperative management and advocate the members’ voice in Cooperative operations.

Directors must receive electric service from Stearns Electric at their primary residence in the district they represent. Directors cannot be an immediate relative to an employee, employed by an enterprise that directly competes with or provides substantial services to the Cooperative, or have any other conflict of interest. Stearns Electric retains the services of Survey and Ballot Systems, an independent contractor, to conduct the election in conjunction with the Annual Meeting on Thursday, April 4, 2024.
