Dollar General was first founded by the Turner family in 1939 in Springfield, Ky. The store’s orginal name was J.L. Turner and Son Wholesale–Notions–Hosiery. Dollar General was and “is a fast-growing company with about 16,000 stores in the U.S.,” said District Manager, Barron Klopfenstine.
Dollar General offers general merchandise and basic food items throughout the store.
Dollar General in Kimball had a soft opening Sunday, Oct. 14, and is now open to the public.
The grand opening is scheduled for 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27.
