The fifth annual Kimball Area Dollars for Scholars “Dare to Dream” gala will be held Saturday, May 15, in the Kimball Area High School cafetorium. The theme for this year’s silent auction, gourmet meal and show will be “Monopoly Mania.” Doors will open at 5 p.m. with dinner beginning at 5:30 p.m. Tonic Sol-Fa, an a capella group with nationwide acclaim, will be the entertainment for the evening. Once again there will be a $500 wild-card scholarship drawing. Your ticket will be your chance to enter a Kimball Area School District student’s name of your choice in the drawing. In addition, all scholarships given through the Dollars for Scholars organization will be awarded that evening. In 2003, community organizations, under the Dollars for Scholars umbrella, gave $12,200 in the form of 25 scholarships. The cost for tickets is $35 per person if purchased by May 10, or $40 at the door. Tickets are available at the high school, elementary and district offices, State Bank of Kimball, from Dollars for Scholars members and through the mail. Seating is limited, so get your tickets early. If you have an item(s) you would like to donate for the silent auction, call Maureen Dingmann at (320) 398-2539, or deliver it to the high school or elementary offices. Kimball Area Dollars for Scholars is a non-profit organization aimed at raising scholarship money to be given to graduates of Kimball Area High School.
