Dolores Finken of Watkins died Monday, Feb. 10, 2025, at Hilltop Health Care Center in Watkins. She was 94.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at Church of St. Anthony in Watkins. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Watkins.

Dolores Weirens was born Sept. 10, 1930, in Richmond, Minn., to Peter and Catherine Weirens. She graduated from Eden Valley High School in 1948, and she attended St. Cloud Teacher’s College (now St. Cloud State University). After college, she worked as a telephone operator. Dolores was united in marriage to Gilbert Finken on July 16, 1952, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Richmond. They resided in Watkins. She was a stay-at-home mom until she started waitressing at Taste of the West café and the Family Inn. She was a member of the Church of St. Anthony and was active in the choir, Christian Mothers, St. Cecile’s Circle, and mission sewing. Dolores’ hobbies included crocheting, embroidering, jigsaw puzzles, and playing cards.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gilbert in 2011, sister Evelyn Korman, and brothers Norbert Weirens and Edwin Weirens.

She is survived by her children Tom (and Barbara) Finken of Watkins, Pat (and Chad) Weber of St. Cloud, Jim (and Casey) Finken of Swatera, Minn., and Dan (and Michelle) Finken of Randall; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
