Donna Jude of Annandale died Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009, at the Annandale Care Center where she had been a resident the past three years. She was 81.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Annandale with Fr. Victor Valencia officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 4-8 p.m. Thursday with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Donna Mae Jude was born July 19, 1928, in St. Cloud to Darrell and Vera (Willford) Brower. She graduated from Kimball High School in 1946 and then received her teaching degree from St. Cloud State University. She married Tom Jude June 10, 1948; he preceded her in death Sept. 7, 1995.
From 1960-77 Donna was the bookkeeper at Land O’Lakes Oil Company in Kimball, then for seven years along with her husband she managed Travelers Country Club in Clear Lake.
Since 1990 she had lived in Annandale and worked with children at Alphabet Soup and the Annandale School District. She was a member of St. Ignatius Church and she enjoyed camping, playing piano, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband Tom, brother Robert, sister Edie Johnson Jurek, brothers-in-law Jim Marquardt and Larry Johnson, and nephew Ron Marquardt.
She is survived by her daughters Connie (and Ken) Rathje of Annandale, and Peggy Ecker (and fiancé Mike Madden) of Sauk Rapids; grandchildren Jennifer (and Kevin) Vevea, Jeremy (and Kelly) Ecker, and Jessica Rathje; sister Audrey Marquardt; great-grandchildren Dominic and expected granddaughters “baby girl” Vevea and Ella Mae Ecker; nieces, nephews, and her extended family at the Annandale Care Center.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jen and Kevin Vevea, Jeremy and Kelly Ecker, and Jessica Rathje. Music for the service will be provided by Mike Madden and Zach Dietz. Arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
