Donnay strikes out 16 in Cubs?Äô opener

The eighth-grade boys?Äô baseball team traveled to Howard Lake last Tuesday for their opening game of the season. Austin Donnay started on the hill for the Cubs. Austin pitched 4.2 innings for the Cubs and struck out 16 Laker hitters and walked six. He gave up 10 runs, but only one of them was earned on three hits.

At the plate the Cubs collected two hits, one each by Donnay and Zack Holtz. Matt Loch scored the only run and added a stolen base. Errors cost the Cubs in this game as they had six, leading to 10 total unearned runs in the 11-1 loss.
