Dorine Heinen of South Haven died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, at St. Cloud Hospital. She was 91. 
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids with Rev. Ralph Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in Sauk Rapids. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church Wednesday.
Dorine Jane Heinen was born Aug. 1, 1927, to Frederick and Pauline (Pfau) Sumbs in Sauk Rapids where she lived most of her life. She married Francis Heinen June 16, 1945, at St. Mary’s Cathedral; he preceded her in death in 2006. Dorine was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Church; she was very involved in the church, and was the first child to be baptized in the old Sacred Heart Church. Dorine was a member of the Waite Park American Legion Post 428 Auxiliary and the Sauk Rapids VFW Post 6992. She loved spending time with her family, playing cards, and putting together puzzles.
Dorine was preceded in death by her parents, husband Francis, son Frederick Heinen, and sister Eileen Schraut.
She is survived by her children John Heinen of St. Cloud, Matthew Heinen of Sauk Rapids, Glen Heinen, and Francis “Shorty” Heinen of Sauk Rapics; caregiver and granddaughter Michele Capes of South Haven; sister Rosemary Thometz of Moorhead; 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids.
