Eagles’ softball team takes two from Jaguars

The Eden Valley-Watkins softball team took on Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa last Tuesday, May 15, in a double-header affair; and the Eagles came out hitting. They swept both games by scores of 13-4, and 11-7. EV-W posted runs in nearly every inning of game one, including a six-spot in the sixth. In game two, the Eagles pounded-out a dozen hits, averted a pretty strong Jaguar surge and cruised to the twin-bill victory. Eden Valley-Watkins’ Ellie Schmaltz was the winning pitcher on the day. She threw 12 innings, gave up 16 hits, 11 runs (9 earned), surrendered

9 walks, and struck out 10 batters.
