Eden Valley Fire Department, along with Paynesville, Richmond and Watkins fire departments were dispatched to a barn fire approximately 2 miles northwest of the city of Eden Valley at 5:32 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3. The fully-engulfed barn was at the Thomas and Phyllis Lenz residence, 22276 County Road 34, Eden Lake Township. No one was inside the barn at the time of the fire, except livestock (all livestock was accounted for). The barn was a total loss and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Watkins and Eden Valley police departments also assisted.
