City clerks across Minnesota gathered at the state convention in St. Cloud, March 21-23. This is an annual convention put on by the League of Minnesota Cities. Clerks have an opportunity to learn a lot, and to network with each other.
Another “perk” is the annual drawing for a pair of tickets to the international city clerks convention. Last year, Eden Valley clerk Susie Anderson was an alternate (in case the one drawn couldn’t attend, which she did). But this year, Anderson won the all-expense paid trip. Although not to Sydney or Amsterdam, she plans to enjoy the trip to Portland, Ore., next month.

Susie Anderson
may have preferred Sidney, Australia, but doesn’t have a passport and there’s no time to get one, so Portland is just fine.
