The Eden Valley city council met Wednesday, Oct. 7, for their regular meeting. It was a short one.

Meeker County EDA has requested $1 per city resident to contribute toward a housing study for the county. The council will invite EDA Executive Director David Krueger to the next council meeting.

The fire department pension was discussed again. The department will be asked to show projections to assure the future of the fund, then come to the council for ratification. They have requested the pension benefit be raised from $1,000 to $1,500 per month.

Interviews will begin in the next week or so for the deputy clerk position.

Five blocks of city street have been reclaimed and is ready to re-pave later in the week. There is a slight cost overrun, as Park Avenue is now wider, and some of the vet clinic lot was re-done to alleviate waterflow problems.

The next meeting of the Eden Valley city council will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4.
