Edwin Rohrbeck died Monday, Aug. 22, 2005, at his Watkins home. He was 65. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, at St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Forest City with Fr. Pat Casey officiating. Interment was in the St. Gertrude Cemetery. Friends called from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 8-10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins. Edwin V. Rohrbeck was born Dec. 8, 1939, in Forest Prairie Township, Meeker County, to Edwin W. and Katherine (Horwath) Rohrbeck. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959 and in the Army Reserves until 1963. He married Joyce Taina Jan. 30, 1960, at St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Forest City. He was employed as a cement finisher for many years and he also operated a mink ranch. Edwin enjoyed raising exotic birds, talking on the C.B. radio and listening to country-western oldies. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Joyce in 1988, and son Randy. Edwin is survived by his special friend Rose Renner of Watkins; children Michael (and Nora) Rohrbeck, Steven (and Rhonda) Rohrbeck, Kimberly (and Rick) Ertl, all of Watkins; daughter-in-law Lacy Rohrbeck of Lit-chfield; grandchildren Matthew, Angela, Miranda, Adam, Kelsey and Zach; brothers and sisters Sharon (and Lloyd) Shoutz of Watkins, Darlene (and Bill) Whitcomb of Clearwater, Shirley (and George) Leppa of Big Lake, and Linda (and Steven) Fluck of Carlton.
