Ehlinger in Super Bowl LI opening ceremony

·

Kimball alumnus Isaiah Ehlinger carried the U.S. Air Force flag in the multi-military Honor Guard for the opening ceremony for Super Bowl LI this past Sunday, Feb. 5, in Houston, Texas. He arrived there Thursday for rehearsals. Ehlinger is third from the right in the Honor Guard, standing at attention behind Luke Bryan as he sang the National Anthem before the game began. He got to meet Luke Bryan in rehearsal Friday, and got to see a lot of other celebrities the day of the game. After the game, the NFL had stadium seats for the Honor Guard so they could watch the game. They returned to base in Washington, D.C., Monday morning. ?ÄúIt was a pretty awesome feeling marching out onto the stage,?Äù Ehlinger says, but honestly I was more worried about making sure everything was spot-on and perfect-looking. It almost felt surreal.?Äù Thank you, Isaiah; you did us all proud. Submitted photo.
