Group camps at Lake Maria State Park and Sand Dunes State Forest for up to 50 people can be reserved throughout the year, up to one year in advance. There are four group camp sites at Sand Dunes State Forest. The Pineview group camp has three sites for up to 25 people each, and the Lakeview group camp has one site for up to 50 people. Included at these sites are picnic tables, fire rings, drinking water, toilet facilities, trail access, tent camping, a swimming beach at Ann Lake and access to Uncas Dunes Scientific and Nature Area. The minimum cost is $30 per night or $2 per person if there are more than 15 people in the group. To make reservations, call (763) 878-2325. Sand Dunes State Forest is located five miles northeast of Big Lake. Two group sites accommodating up to 50 people each are available at Lake Maria State Park. Amenities are similar to Sand Dunes plus boats and canoes can be rented at Lake Maria. Rates are the same and reservations can be made by calling the state park reservation number toll-free at (866) 857-2757. Lake Maria State Park is located seven miles northeast of Annandale.
