Enjoy our summer temps as they warm toward 90

We did see some scattered rain and thunderstorms around the state of Minnesota over the weekend and earlier this week. Thankfully, no real severe weather came of these thunderstorms. Some locations received more than 2 inches of rain in Douglas, Carlton, and Aitkin counties over the weekend. Many other spots reported 1 inch or more in Cass, Crow Wing, to Ramsey counties.

Some additional showers and thunderstorms also fell Monday across parts of the state. It was warm and humid with some fog Monday morning due to all the moisture in the lower levels of the atmosphere and fairly light winds.

The rest of the week should be generally dry, but we are going to be quite warm. High temperatures by this weekend could be near 90 degrees in some locations. It looks like any additional rain should hold off until Sunday.

By the way, this Friday you’ll be able to see Venus “edging up in the west through the afterglow of sunset.” You will be able to see -Mercury fading in the sky as well.

Stay cool, and enjoy our warm summer weather because we will be complaining that it is too cold come January.
