A First Responder class will be offered through Ridgewater College in upcoming months. The course is specially designed for law enforcement and related personnel, or people interested in becoming law enforcement or rescue personnel. The course includes CPR, legal aspects of emergency medical care, treatment of fractures, control of bleeding, patient examination, hazardous materials, blood borne pathogens, environmental emergencies and more. The class fee is $236.06 plus the cost of books. Classes will be from 6:30-10:30 p.m. and are offered in the following locations. o Appleton. Classes will be Mondays and Wednesdays, Sept. 27-Nov. 3. o Danube Fire Hall. Classes will be Tuesdays and Thursdays, Sept. 28-Nov. 4.
